Accurate Valiant BV 500 Single Speed Fishing Reel - Saltwater & Freshwater Fishing Gear for Bass, Trout & Offshore Angling

The 500 size Valiant is a great all around reel size, it can be used for anything from live bait to casting irons, jigging, and even light trolling applications. The single speed is a high gear ratio model so it will work better for jigging and casting, but in a pinch has plenty of drag to stop most species. 

At only 16oz it's still light and palmable but still packs on close to 400 yards of 65lb line. This is the largest in the 500 sizes, Accurate also has a 500N narrow size and a new 500N Plus which is just in between but for my money the 500 makes the most sense. The new models come with the more comfortable rubber knob, but it can be optioned with the lighter ball handle or larger T-bar knob.
