Description

The Saltiga Cuddler has been out in Japan for about a year and has be extremely popular for topwater casting to hungry bluefin, yellowfin, yellowtail and more so much so that guys were importing these to fish in SoCal and catching the local bluefin on foamers. These are finally becoming available here in a variety of colors and rigged with hooks from BKK unlike the JDM counterpart. These are the 185F size which is 185mm ~ 7.3" and 95g ~ 3.35oz, although a smaller 160 and bigger 200 size is coming soon in Japan so we may see those too later in the year.

These are floating lures so they will work best when the fish are either right on the surface or within 50 feet or so. Because they float with the head out of the water you will want to use slow sweeping actions to make the lure dart under the water and swim before popping back up, this is best done on a spinning setup due to the reel being on the bottom and overall ease of casting.

The tail end shape is slimmed down and there is an internal weight towards the end which makes casting these much easier so you get more time in the water, the nose is also more pointed for an easier retrieve while the lure is under the water. If you haven't had the experience of getting a bluefin or yellowfin bite right on the surface you are missing out and these are a great option for getting you that shot.
